Cheap Garmin Nuvi 1370 4

Review and Buying Guide of Cheap Garmin Nuvi 1370 4

After having had a number of tom toms in the past, i bought this garmin nuvi 1370 satellite navigation with uk, european & north american mapping to replace a broken tom tom. It is more than a match for the tom tom and slightly easier to use. The other bonus is that the maps included cover all of the uk, europe and north america, so i will be able to use the nuvi for most of my holiday trips.

I owned at tomtom one which was good for about 1 hour and then after that it was total rubbish. The main problem was battery life, you always had to have it plugged into the fag lighter in the car. Plus it took ages to switch on. But i'm here to review the garminthe package was very good and very well protected, after un-rapping i was very pleased with the screen size of the garmin.

After reading the manual which is very basic which is all you need, you have to charge the device for four hours before using it. Once i done this i decided to plug it striaght into my macbook pro laptop. You get given two free downloadable maps for your garmin from there website once you register it with in 60 days of purchasing the sat nav. Downloading the maps is a pieace of cake, just plug it in to your pc or mac with the usb cable provided and away you go, it gives you step by step instuctions and its all done via there website, no need to install any cds.

Great Sat Nav! Great Value!. I bought this sat nav in anticipation of my family trip to the us in which we will be covering over 3,500 miles. If you are going to do a lot of driving in the us it is better to buy one than rent for somewhere in the neighbourhood of $40 - $65 per week. Although i have not used it in the us yet i have used it in the uk and i found no fault with it. You need to set this piece of kit up properly otherwise it might not work properly when you get to the us, the reason being this sat nav comes with the all the 4gb space used up with both the european and north america maps, for this reason it is really slow to load the maps and that may be the reason for some of the negative comments. So what can you do to prevent this?what i did was register the sat nav with garmin, and in doing this you get the latest map updates and option of how you want to set up your sat nav. If you try to update all the maps i can guarantee you will run out of space and the update will not succeed. So what i did was remove the european map from the unit and only update the north america map, as i already have another sat nav for europe. I ordered a 16gb micro sd card from amazon for £6. 27 and loaded the european map onto the sd card, the garmin map updater software will give you the option to do this through the 'view options' button at the bottom left hand corner of the garmin map updater software. So i have the north america map on the sat nav, and the european map on the micro sd card. You can also save more space by backing up the files on the sat nav to your computer or usb stick, and deleting all the languages you do not speak from the 'voice' folder, all the files from the 'keyboard' folder just leaving en_gb. Kbd and en_us. Kbd, all the files from the 'text' folder except the glx files prefixed with en_gb, and all the folders from the 'help' folder except the british english and american english folders. I also deleted all the files from the 'vehicle' folder just leaving the 'car_blue. Srf' file. When i had finished i used only 2gb of the 3. 62gb space on the sat nav and 2. 5gb of the 16gb space on my micro sd card, above all the unit loads the maps much faster. I am happy so 5 stars so far and for £110 it is an amazing value for money. I will give further feedback when i return from the us. .

A Very Useful Bit of Kit. Being a confirmed map reader i had never used a sat-nav before purchasing this one. However, as i was embarking on a six week trip to the usa, i figured i could use a little help!the main reason for purchasing this one was that it was one of the very few that included us mapping as standard. I gave it a short trial run in england in order to get the hang of the thing but the first time it was used in anger was on arrival at washington airport. Picked up the hire car, plugged it in and it was live and ready to go in under a minute. Six weeks and 4000 miles later i confess to being totally satisfied and a firm convert to sat-nav travel. It hardly missed a beat the whole trip and navigated efficiently to everywhere we wanted to go - it does exactly what it says on the tin!some reviewers have mentioned a shortage of memory and the need to use an sd card to hold everything. Quick tip - as with most devices there is an awful lot of useless stuff included as standard. If you only speak one language then remove all the others from the device. This alone will free up a great deal of space and eliminate the need for an sd card. I don't know if it is better or worse than other makes as i have nothing to compare it with but, for the price, this one does everything i need. .

Didn't Mr Garmin Work On the Apollo Moon Shots?. I bought this for a trip to holland in april, and because i will be driving in new jersey later in the year. It got me to holland really quickly and painlessly, but on the way back it tried to navigate me into a field; literally. I think i may have been driving too fast as i hadn't allowed enough time to get the ferry, which i missed though i can't blame the sat nav for that. Apart from this mishap where it really did seem to have trouble updating itself, the unit has been fine. I've seen the next model up has a much more detailed lane assist showing a 3d picture of a motorway junction and a nike style swoosh arrow. This one just shows arrows in the top lhs, though i find that pretty good. I have had a situation where a 3d picture would have avoided a missed junction, though it was a very minor junction in belgium and i bet this particular junction wouldn't have been 3deed on the next model up. Sat navs have come on a lot in the past few years and this is a definite step up from my previous unit. In fact, other members of the family like it which is in complete contrast to my previous gobby unit. There's some nice touches like the 'where am i' feature which tells you where you are - something annoying about my last one i couldn't work out what junction i'd just passed on the motorway, whereas now i can, and find the nearest petrol station, hospital etc. I've read that other people have had technical problems. There is something a bit odd when hooking up to the internet, when it suspects you may have a stolen device. I wonder if that results in people's units stopping working. I made sure i drove to my house on sat nav a few times so it registered where i lived was 'home', it then registered fine and hasn't suspiciously shut down. Also, the 'simulation' mode actually switches off satellite reception, and it can then take ages to re-detect, whereas keeping it in live mode seems to work brilliantly. Great battery life. It has a traffic thingy which hasn't kicked in yet even though i've got the receiver attached. It doesn't come with a pouch or a stylus - i use the little placky bag it was packaged within, and nicked a nintendo ds stylus from the kids. Obviously you would only buy this particular unit if you wanted uk, european and us maps, otherwise the other units are going to be just as good, the decisions being the size of the screen (this one is fine) whether it has 3d lane assist (on the bigger units i believe, as this one has 2d lane assist), and the collection of maps. I chose this device because of the maps, and am delighted with the improvement in usability and experience over my previous device, so will probably stick with garmin from now on, especially when the interplanetary maps come out. .

Conclusion of Garmin Nuvi 1370 4

We have used it in the uk, usa and now europe and its has got us where we wanted to go every time and with a good degree of accuracy using an excellent display. We have used the walking mode to locate a chemist in washington dc and the range of places it can has available is enormous, we wanted to locate a grocer near where we were staying and it listed dozens and not all were chain store shopsi don't normally like to recommend things but i would this sat nav. It performed faultlessly in both locations; there were no problems acquiring satellites at any time in either continent; all the features used worked well, particularly the speed-limit and speed camera locations features; it found motels and petrol stations when requested. The manual supplied is pretty basic, but it is easy to download the full version from garmin's website. I bought this sat nav in anticipation of my family trip to the us in which we will be covering over 3,500 miles.

I chose this device because of the maps, and am delighted with the improvement in usability and experience over my previous device, so will probably stick with garmin from now on, especially when the interplanetary maps come out. This sat nav really is top rate. If you want a unit to work simplistically and have great value for money, this is the one to choose. After having had a number of tom toms in the past, i bought this garmin nuvi 1370 satellite navigation with uk, european & north american mapping to replace a broken tom tom.

The other bonus is that the maps included cover all of the uk, europe and north america, so i will be able to use the nuvi for most of my holiday trips. I purchased this sat nav for my husbands birthday, as our previous one was over 8 years old. The main reason we went for the nuvi 1370 is because it contained not only mapping of the uk & europe but also north america and as i am canadian i found this an exceptional asset to assist in our travel route guides. I was also impressed with the free upgrade of maps that were on offer. As we already had been using and were satisfied (i am hopeless at map reading, we could have ended up on the moon at any time i was in charge)an older version of a garmin sat nav we decided there was no necessity to confuse me any more than was required, we would stick with what we know.

This is the first sat nav i have bought and was a bit wary after reading a couple of negative reviews. We went to the usa a couple of years ago for 3 weeks and hired a sat nav at the car rental part of the airport. I purchased this sat nav prior to going on holiday to the states. I wanted a device which would work both in the uk and the usa. Before using the device, i updated it with the latest map updates.

Note that updates of both european and us maps will require you to purchase a micro-sd card, as there is insufficient remaining memory on the device itself. Also, make sure you have sufficient free disk space on your computer to download the map data. Having updated the maps, the device worked flawlessly in the uk. I looked at the latest models and the feedback did not give me confidence and, garmin's own apparent lack of positive support disuaded me from those expensive purchases and decided to go for a more mature model, the nuvi 1370 loaded with n american, uk and europe maps. Not sure what to do about that other than try to get a free update within 6 months of the purchase.

Nothing wrong with it other than having rather old maps that needed updating. I realised that it was not much more expensive to buy a new satnav than to buy map updates for the old one. By the same logic i then looked for one that has maps of uk, europe and the us. It worked fine straight out of the box and it was not too much bother to hook it up to the pc to get the latest updates loaded. My husband who has a very nice top of the range bmw with a built in sat nav system said this one is much better, with easy to use functions.

Reason for my purchase is we just came back from usa a few days ago and hired the garmin for our hire car we found this system so easy to use that i bought it the minute i came home. When in my husband's car i pulled over and even from his sat nav i couldn't actually tell him where i had pulled over. Basically of the 3 sat nav systems in our house, this is the best. I was quite unaware of the fact that i couldn't update the entire maps (latest) due to space issue. I understand that the newer maps has got lot more details and so are bigger.

Garmin 1370. This is the first sat nav i have bought and was a bit wary after reading a couple of negative reviews. However, i find this easy to use and the bluetooth on it is great for making and receiving phone calls whilst on the move. It did take a bit of time initially (10-15 mins) to locate a satellite but since then, abaolutely no trouble locating one whatsoever. We went to the usa a couple of years ago for 3 weeks and hired a sat nav at the car rental part of the airport. If i remember correctly, this cost around £50-£60 sterling so another couple of trips and this will pay for itself. All in all, very happy with this purchase. .

The main reason we went for the nuvi 1370 is because it contained not only mapping of the uk & europe but also north america and as i am canadian i found this an exceptional asset to assist in our travel route guides. Everything is clear concise and easy to follow and images are clear to see, a very useful and helpful item at a reasonable price. .

The Best Garmin Nuvi 215 3

Review and Buying Guide of The Best Garmin Nuvi 215 3

If you want a basic, non complicated satellite navagation system then this is the one for you. It's simple to use and has a quick start manual. Used it in central london and it took us to our destination. The battery will last about 3 hours of travelling time without plugging the cable power into the car.

It does not come with a ac adapter which is an optional accessory. Overall it a good introduction to the world of sat nav.

Great little satnav ideally suited to those with a handbag as not bulky. Have used alot over last few weeks and has found all places. Like the fact that screen goes to a black background for night driving. Blutooth works but volume is very quiet, although i am still getting to grips with all the features.

Pros

  • Great value Sat-Nav from Garmin!
  • garmin sat nav nuvi 215
  • Garmin Nuvi 215 Sat-Nav

  • EcoRoute™ optional download – for fuel-efficient navigation to save fuel and money
  • 3.5 inch touchscreen display, sleek design that easily fits easily in pocket.

Great Garmin?. The satnav has a cool in-built handsfree function which connects with your phone via bluetooth. The mapping device is brilliant and gets you from a-b with no trouble. However, this system does not seem to be able to get around traffic and show multiple routes to get to places which is really awful when trying to get around the m25 and not through it. So, it's great but always good to have a back-up plan as well or it might take you the long way. .

Garmin Nuvi 215. This is my first sat nav. It is user friendly, easy to use, precise guide and spoken instruction. Its bluetooth function is an added feature that i find helpful especially when you are driving. I'll definitely recommended it to everyone who wants to buy a sat nav. .

Garmin Sat Nav Nuvi 215. This is very good system easy to use clear mapping has its my first sat nav i cant compare it to any others but im very pleased with it.

Conclusion of Garmin Nuvi 215 3

Your next direction is clearly displayed at the top of the screen and instead of a boring pointy arrow on the road, you get an actual car. Additional side roads and streets are all there, but your main route is bright and bold. In researching sat-navs, i looked at the main differentiators between tomtom and garmin. The reigning opinion is that garmin just about leads the way. Garmin is also far more reliable and quicker when it comes to calculating routes.

Taken a wrong route or think you know a quicker route?. This unit will not pair with my samsung omnia, so this may be a problem if hands-free calling is a must. After reviewing various products i decided to purchase the garmin nuvi 215 unit because it had all the features i required and fell within the price range of >£100. It was easy to set up out of the car powered by the onboard rechargeable battery (charges when connected to cigarette lighter socket in car). The satnav has a cool in-built handsfree function which connects with your phone via bluetooth.

I'll definitely recommended it to everyone who wants to buy a sat nav. This is very good system easy to use clear mapping has its my first sat nav i cant compare it to any others but im very pleased with it. I've resisted buying a satnav until now and this product does exactly what i want it to. A very easy to use budget sat nav with very clear instructions from its on board menuhowever, i found it was not too good on 'dual roundabouts' in close proximityit dealt with the first roundabout fine but did not provide voice prompt instructions before i was actually on the second roundabout & i had to make my own decision about which exit to take. It was also caught out by the one way system around bishop aukland town centre in county durham, which must have been introduced after the maps were loaded, as it wanted me to take a 'no entry' down a one way streetto sum up, a useful aid to navigation but not to be taken as 'gospel'.

I had to return the first one of these i purchased, as it froze and when downloading the maps update. It's a basic satnav and seems to do the job adequately, but i would ask yourself if you really need a satnav before you buy one. I know people who use them on their way to work - a journey they know and have done hundreds of times. Then there's the dilemma of the satnav suggesting a route that is not the same as the one you would normally take (we're creatures of habit, especially with car journeys, and everyone has there set routes which they don't like to change). Can't help feeling that a satnav is a solution looking for a problem most of the time - do you really not know how to get from birmingham to liverpool?with regard to this particular unit, i would give one warning; neither the returned unit nor the present (working) one would charge from anything other than the car charger, which is a severe limitation.

I think that the reason that the first one froze on the maps download was that it ran out of juice - the pc gave an error message saying that no gps was connected. Tech support say this is impossible as the unit automatically charges when connected to a pc. But i have had my unit connected to a pc for hours and it still doesn't charge, i've used a mains usb charger and it still doesn't charge, and yet a half hour in the car results in a fully charged satnav. Really pleased with the item, very easy to use, has all the main functions and very easy to update, well recommended the price does change on this item so if it goes reduced grab it. I have used it only a few times & it does the job. Not always convinced by the routes but it recalculates easy enough.

If you deviate from the instructed route, the satellite system quickly picks up your location and guides you through the next possible route until you arrive at your destination. Overall it a good introduction to the world of sat nav. This sat nav was a last minute xmas gift to my son, having spotted it on your web site. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to buy a good satnav at a good price. Garmin do not see the necessity to include a usb cable in this package, to connect the unit to a pc.

Anyone who buys a gps device will want to connect to their pc at some time for map updates etc. Having tried a tomtom one(packed up before it even made it to the car due to rubbish software), a binatone carrera (a joke), and a navman s50 (insisted that heathrow airport didn't exist), i decided to have one last try at a satnav before reverting to my trusty road atlas. I could not charge it because there was no usb cable and my car was away at work. Its first test was to take me home from my place of work. :-) not a problem as i suspect a map update will sort that.

When i arrived at my destination it had decided that my house was on the opposite side of the road, which again was no real problem. There is even an option to plan a route ignoring 'off road', at which the mind boggles. Update: now that i have had the chance to give this unit a proper test i can give a more authoritative assessment. This unit took me flawlessly (almost) from suffolk to high wycombe and then to bath, where it found my son's house without a problem. However, at the high wycombe address it seemed keen to deter me from making a right turn into the destination road, preferring instead to take me into the opposite turning, down a slip road, and back on to the main road in the opposite direction to make a left turn into the destination.

None of the errors it produced were beyond the scope of common sense to correct and provided it is used in the same way as a map (ie; also use your head) i feel it is a decent investment. A good quality product which is very easy to use. Would recommend this product to anyone, its so easy to use, mind you it sometimes tells you to do a u turn when your on the motorway, but this is due to signal loss. Easy to work and stays put on my window screen. The screen is a nice size and the routes are calculated very quickly - even if you take a wrong turn. We have been using this for some time and have found it reliable.

We struggle with technology sometimes but have had few problems with this products. A few local updates needed but a good value and easy to use for money satnav. Good product now in use and working very well.

Garmin Nuvi 215. Really pleased with the item, very easy to use, has all the main functions and very easy to update, well recommended the price does change on this item so if it goes reduced grab it.

2nd Time Lucky. I had to return the first one of these i purchased, as it froze and when downloading the maps update. Amazon were brilliant and sent a replacement within 3 days. It's a basic satnav and seems to do the job adequately, but i would ask yourself if you really need a satnav before you buy one. I know people who use them on their way to work - a journey they know and have done hundreds of times. The Best TomTom ONE V3 Satellite Navigation System

Review and Buying Guide of The Best TomTom ONE V3 Satellite Navigation System

I'm new to sat nav, but found the basics easy to master. It would be good if the paper user guide had a bit more information.

Just bought my own tom tom as son has our other one and husband has one in his car. It is light and slimline so easily fits into a bag or pocket. I found it fairly easy to use, especially as i tend not to read the instructions.Cannot comment on maps but for my purposes should be fine as i tend to look at a map first and not rely on gadgets too much.

Was great value for money when i bought it in feb (it has gone up on amazon now) and was much cheaper than currys, comet.

Pros

  • Mixed experiences
  • Does the job with no frills
  • Map update nightmare
  • TomTom One V3 Would not be without it.
  • Tom Tom One V3 Europe
  • tom tom v3 Europe and mount

Features of TomTom ONE V3 Satellite Navigation System - UK, ROI & Western Europe (Classic)

  • 3.5" high quality touchscreen
  • Easy-to-use navigation
  • Fast route calculation and re-routing if roadblocks occur
  • Convenient postcode navigation
  • Clear spoken instructions in in your own language (36 languages to choose from and 55 different voices available)

My New Tom Tom. Found instructions simple even for a technofobe. Loaded information from tom tom home through my computer to my unit with ease. Everything i need it does. Very pleased with my selection. .

Does the Job with No Frills. I bought this unit as a replacement for my go510 that gave up the ghost after 18 months. As i really didn't want to spend much money on a replacement this was perfect and the fact that it has western europe maps too is a massive bonus with the summer holidays closing in!it doesn't do anything fancy, it is just a navigation device, having had the go510 that has a higher definition screen, hands free mobile phone connection (which wasn't very good anyway), ipod connection (which gave good contol but poor sound quality) etc this seems a little low rent, but on the plus side there are less wires cluttering up my dashboard which means less to pack away everytime i leave the car anywhere. On the whole it gets me where i need to go, and crucially home again too! it is compact, easy to use and priced well. Other units may look more impressive and have more features but i found i never really used anything other than the navigation feature anyway so this is all you will ever need. .

Excellent. This is the second tomtom one v3 that i have bought (first one went to my son)and that should be some recommendation. I really can't fault it. One very useful application was when i was travelling over the furka pass in switzerland. The low cloud brought visibility down to about 20-30 yards in places but by glancing at the map display you could see whether there was a bit of straight or a hairpin coming up - very helpful. Robj.

Conclusion of TomTom ONE V3 Satellite Navigation System

Its great device works well. Awesome tomtom mapping software. Easy to update via tomtom home software. Be warned that the maps are not as up-to-date as the product. I don't know why it takes so long for major by-passes etc to get included - my tom tom one didn't have a major by-pass in hertfordshire 3 years after it was completed.

The spoken instructions and the display are good, which is why tom tom is so successful, but the routing can be rather eccentric to say the least. On the other hand, the arrival time estimates are more reliable than - say - google maps. Loaded information from tom tom home through my computer to my unit with ease. I bought this unit as a replacement for my go510 that gave up the ghost after 18 months. As i really didn't want to spend much money on a replacement this was perfect and the fact that it has western europe maps too is a massive bonus with the summer holidays closing init doesn't do anything fancy, it is just a navigation device, having had the go510 that has a higher definition screen, hands free mobile phone connection (which wasn't very good anyway), ipod connection (which gave good contol but poor sound quality) etc this seems a little low rent, but on the plus side there are less wires cluttering up my dashboard which means less to pack away everytime i leave the car anywhere.

The low cloud brought visibility down to about 20-30 yards in places but by glancing at the map display you could see whether there was a bit of straight or a hairpin coming up - very helpful. Had been using a sony navu for some time and liked the unit, although the maps were getting a bit dated. Plugged it in and had a play with it, then decided to take adavantage of the latest map guarantee so set the latest map to download. To cut the long story short, the download failed and tomtom then said i had no maps installed.

Due to the time spent sorting it i didn't have it when i went to france and - yep you guessed it - got lost. Tomtom one v3 satellite navigation system - uk, roi & western europe (classic)if you never get lost don't buy it, you don't need it. Your blood pressure, it is like taking a chill pill, you know you will get there, how long it will take, how far it is and approximate time to set off. I often use limited speed option, as i also often drive a classic vehicle which prefers 55 mph max, my routes and times are automatically adjusted. Voices need not be boring many are free to download, volume is very adjustable so when in the landy i just turn it up, most are very clear and easy to follow.

For use in europe you reset to drive on the 'wrong side of the road'. I have also adapted the tomtom to work on my harley with a handlebar mount(found on amazon £5+pp. The only problems i have encountered have been in cities where the filter lanes seem to be added almost weekly, and sometimes on small roundabouts it is difficult for the unit to identify the correct exit lane if they are too close together, always note the exit road number displayed on the tomtom. I am very pleased with the purchase of my tom tom, i purchased it for my wife to find her way out and about with our young son, which she says she now does without fear of getting lost, and is surprised how easy it is to use. It really is very easy to use and always up to date with regular updates from the tom tom website.

The only problem with tom tom is me, getting used to it took a few attempts but since then its great, don't know how i would do without it. Found all the hardware easy to use and very useful on routes around london. The main downside was that the maps and software were completely out of date, despite getting all the latest updates on my pc, when travelling in ireland some of the main motorways and ring roads from dublin to galway simply didn't appear on the tom tom, and showed us travelling in a field mile after mile. However, when actually approaching a real 40mph roadwork piece on the m25 (near the a10 underpass) no warning bleep was given basicly it's a useful device for basic route finding but i still will use a back up map just to be sure, especially for newer roads. This is a great product at a great price.

However the vendor originally sent the incorrect version with central european maps only (german, austrian and swiss). Disappointing service from a vendor working within the amazon marketplace and the first time i have ever had a problem with anything i have purchased either directly from amazon or via amazon marketplace. These are excellent items for the money, though i see the price is a good bit higher than when i bought mine as a special offer 2 yrs ago. Not a substitute for situational awareness (i have a garmin as well, and neither is it a sub for common sense), but an excellent tool that made adventuring on weekends a lot more pleasant (paper map in glove box just in case). I never had to use the paper map, but did have a few times when satellite receptions blipped out for an extended time -it happens with all receivers, depending on environment and any number of other factors.

But i went places and did things that i might not have taken the trouble to do without the gps receiver -so much more relaxing than driving alone and having to stop to refer to a map from time to time. Great sat nav for the money. Possibly we did not have the correct addresses all the time. Ive had the tomtom one for 3 years, brilliant satnav, really easy to use, used it every day almost for 3 years. I bought the new tottom live with iq routes to replace it but have since went back to my tomtom one so will sell my new one.

Relatively up to date (did not come with map of new road layout for new cabot circus layout in bristol). Got this for my dad he loved it. My third tom tom. My wife works in medical sales and had to learn a new area quickly. She had previously shunned tom toms as too expensive, but this was brilliantly priced and has made her working life so much easier. As reliable and user friendly as the uk model - excellent value for money - takes the strain and missed turnings out of driving holidays in europe.

I'm new to sat nav, but found the basics easy to master. Just bought my own tom tom as son has our other one and husband has one in his car. I found it fairly easy to use, especially as i tend not to read the instructions. Tom Tom V3 Europe and Mount. Recently purchased the new version of the v3 very apprehensive about the bad reviews about the mount continually falling off the windscreen but did what some other people recommended i cleaned the window first! and it worked perfectly no problems at all. The only problem with tom tom is me, getting used to it took a few attempts but since then its great, don't know how i would do without it. .

Tom Tom One V3 Europe. I am very pleased with the purchase of my tom tom, i purchased it for my wife to find her way out and about with our young son, which she says she now does without fear of getting lost, and is surprised how easy it is to use. Cheap Binatone R430 4

Review and Buying Guide of Cheap Binatone R430 4

I bought this thinking it would be a bluetooth version (my fault not sellers) ,but as it wasnt i returned. The screen is little and compact ,so easy to store and use.

Excellent product and speedy service. Not really used it a lot at moment but only problem i can see with it was tells you to take turn off when you are more or less there.

Pros

  • Perfect budget sat nav
  • Low cost highly accurate GPS
  • Easy to set up, understand and use
  • Excellent purchase
  • Binatone R430 overview.
  • Excellent Product and Speedy Service!

Cons

  • The worst sat nav I've ever encountered.
  • Not a product I would buy again
  • dont waste your time
  • Buy a Tom-tom or Garmin
  • Painful is the best word of the day
  • So Disappointing

Negative Review of Binatone R430 4.3 inch Widescreen Satellite Navigation Device

Features of Binatone R430 4.3 inch Widescreen Satellite Navigation Device

  • Super bright, anti-reflection touch-screen 4.3" wide screen LCD
  • High sensitivity GPS receiver for optimum performance
  • Slim profile rubberized design
  • Multi-languages & user friendly interface
  • Clear voice direction guidance

Aaa+++. It does what it says on the box very happy1 would recommend tis to other road users, easy to use.

Very Good. Not just for price value but all in all a good sat nav. I drive for a living and it has not steered me wrong once it is clear and easy to understand. Easy to use with a choice of route options which you can change simply by using the poi or way points and the fact you can turn off the speed camera alert without having to turn the volume down is very useful. I have used a variety of sat navs in the past but i find this one to be by far the easiest to follow. .

Easy to Set Up, Understand and Use. Just what i wanted, as bought for boyfriend who is definitely not a technophobe! he found it easy to set up and use, and for the price, it's excellent value for money. We just needed a basic model, as he is fairly new to the area, but it's more than basic, warning of speedcams and restrictions, even though we haven't got as far as downloading any up to the minute info. He also uses it in ireland, where it also does the business. Great buy, i would recommend to anyone. .

Conclusion of Binatone R430 4

For sure you can buy more expensive sat navs and for sure they do a lot but this budget one is perfect for the occasional user. Well, the main thing that will make anybody write negative comments about this great basic gps is that the first time you use it you must wait around 10 minutes while it configures all the satellites. Not just for price value but all in all a good sat nav. Easy to use with a choice of route options which you can change simply by using the poi or way points and the fact you can turn off the speed camera alert without having to turn the volume down is very useful. I have used a variety of sat navs in the past but i find this one to be by far the easiest to follow.

He found it easy to set up and use, and for the price, it's excellent value for money. We just needed a basic model, as he is fairly new to the area, but it's more than basic, warning of speedcams and restrictions, even though we haven't got as far as downloading any up to the minute info. The product was purchased as a gift and the recipient was thrilled with it, again an excellent product at an excellent price. Compact easy to use sat nav but lacks clarity in both screen picture and voice instructions which can tend to send you the wrong way. The screen is little and compact ,so easy to store and use.

I am happy with the sat nav but wish the instruction book was a little more clearer but it`s working well. Not really used it a lot at moment but only problem i can see with it was tells you to take turn off when you are more or less there. Great correspondence with the seller and any problems were resolved easily without a problem and in a fast time limit. This is a good sat nav it has found every address i have entered so far. Sat nav is very good and for the price it does what and when you want from it, would recomend.

A Basic Sat Nav. Few frills ( eg. Cannot change voice ) but it does the job. Screen is cluttered and some data difficult to read on the move, but not the vital bits. .

Okay. I bought this thinking it would be a bluetooth version (my fault not sellers) ,but as it wasnt i returned. The screen is little and compact ,so easy to store and use.

Buying Guide of Binatone G430 Widescreen Satellite Navigation

Review and Buying Guide of Buying Guide of Binatone G430 Widescreen Satellite Navigation

Binatone all the way for me. After having my original binatone g430 pinched from my car by thieving trash i was keen to get an exact replacement asap. I am so pleased that i found one immediately on amazon. There is so much snobbery and clap trap written about sat navs - the different makes, the features the accuracy etc etc. To be honest you really don't need to spend much on one to be able to get from a to b.

Even the expensive ones get it wrong - believe me. This one is great - very accurate, simple to use, very well made, no extras to buy, looks amazing and best of all - cheap. Not such a big financial loss if it gets pinched either.

This item arrived on time and was as described i am very happy with this purchase and the price.

Pros

  • Binatone all the way for me!
  • simple and easy to use & follow instructions
  • Disappointing but!!
  • Brilliant for panicky drivers!
  • Show me the way Home !

Cons

  • I wish I hadnt bought this product
  • very disappointed
  • Used it twice it overheated both times and the screen
  • Case colour is the only good thing about this product

Simple and Easy to Use & Follow Instructions. I love this sat nav, it's so easy to use, add addresses and i love the way it repeats the instructions of what turn you should take every 100 yards before the turn you need to make. I used other sat navs which leave it too late at roundabouts to tell you which turn your taking to be in the right lane but this one gives you loads of notice and so far i've made a few drives with it that i wouldn't have attempted on my own so def recommend if you want something simple and easy to use & follow instructions. .

Disappointing But!!. Initially pleased with the sat nav unfortunately the on/off button started to play up. Eventually didn't work more than worked. Rang to return response very professional and prompt return label sent by email. Not sure if i would purchase another lower cost sat nav although when working this was excellent. Would certainly use the same supplier. .

Conclusion of Binatone G430 Widescreen Satellite Navigation

Car mount, car charger, usb cable for updates and charging and also a case to put it in when not in use. I thought i would try this sat nav as my boyfriends tomtom when i borrow it cant always find a satellite. It doesnt loose the satelittes even if you turn it on in a different place to where you turned it off. Plus its a great colour and suits my car rather than a big chunky black thig on my window.

The Best TomTom GO 730 Satellite Navigation System

Review and Buying Guide of The Best TomTom GO 730 Satellite Navigation System

This little device helped me a lot when i was settling down in a new place, lots of options to enter address, nice menu. Needs to be updated from time to time.

Glad i stuck with tomtom for my new satnav. Its nice to keep getting map updates, free at present but when the 2 years is up i will have to get them less often. Toured france this summer (2009) and the tomtom was top of my list of essential items, the next was walkie talkies to keep in touch with another family following us just behind and then the airconditioning in the car.

Pros

  • Map Share and share alike
  • Go 730 honest review
  • A good, reliable product
  • Generally happy, home software could be better
  • This is a great product!!
  • Great product, poor battery

Cons

  • TomTom losing its way
  • Inferior to older versions
  • Fancy features but the basic is not working
  • Poor tech support
  • Good when working
  • Not enough memory

Negative Review of TomTom GO 730 Satellite Navigation System

Features of TomTom GO 730 Satellite Navigation System

A Good, Reliable Product. I've had this product a couple of months now. Generally it is a good, reliable product and i really like it. Make sure you get your free map upgrades during the first month of ownership. However, you'll need a 4gb sd card to do this, as the device itself doesn't quite have the capacity for the latest maps. A shame, but an sd card only costs around 6 quid kingston technology 4gb secure digital high capacity class4 card. Take your time to familiarise yourself with how it operates, and install all the updates you require. Also be prepared to search the tomtom site and google to answer queries. Having said that, so long as you are willing to put a little bit of effort in up front then it's a good product. I suspect if you just take it out the box, plug it in and go then you may have difficulties. But a little time investment up front pays off. I find it's timing of journeys so far to have been excellent, only minor map errors. You can plan routes that stop or pass by places of interest. The only thing it doesn't do that i would like is to be able to put in a list of places to stop and have it plan the best route between them, e. G. Fastest route. . All it does is plan a route in the order you place them. But if you were say a delivery driver then you would probably want the fastest route, which it doesn't do. Other than that. Great! by the way, would also recommend getting portable weighted cushion friction mount with arm and holder for the tomtom go 520, 720, 920, 530, 730 and 930. This is reliable, i've used it fine in 3 different cars, and it means there are no tell-tale signs in your car that you have a satnav to be nicked!.

Generally Happy, Home Software Could Be Better. I'm very happy with the device - bluetooth, voice recognition, places of interest etc. I had a problem with downloading the new maps that came with the product. It turned out to be because my tom tom home software (even when new) was an old version. The tom tom home software checks for anything new needed for the device, but not for itself (which is somewhere else on a different menu). So if you get problems, check you have the most recent tom tom home software. I tried calling and gave up twice after 10 mins on hold. I did get a reply to the online reporting process after 5 days (promise 2) which gave hope, but i sorted the problem out myself. Nice device. Good luck!.

Good Companian. Bought this after i lost my first sat nav a garmin 265wt within 3 months of buying it. I looked at quite a few models and considered this as best value for money. It has all the features of a good satnav and is quick in locating the satelites. There are only 2 minor issues with this1) the screeen is difficult to read in dalylight when the light reflects from the bashboard on the screen - i did not have this problem in the garmin2) its fiddly to hook up to the windscreen and the suction can fall off at times , again garmin was better here as it has a locking mechanismother wise in terms of navigation and features this model has it all.

Conclusion of TomTom GO 730 Satellite Navigation System

Quick and clear route planning, the wide touch screen is very good. Should you ignore it, it very quickly comes up with route correction, updating distances and arrival time. Most of the mapping systems on the net (google et al) don't even spell my village correctly. So i bought this device with my eyes unblinkered, but very much interested in the map share facility where users can update road changes, location errors etc.

The update tells the unit where the required satellites will be for a short period of time. I did not use the tomtom traffic updates and poi's as i get them from pocketgps world. So pros and conspro: the same good quality mapping system, compact and reliable so far. Make sure you get your free map upgrades during the first month of ownership.

However, you'll need a 4gb sd card to do this, as the device itself doesn't quite have the capacity for the latest maps. Take your time to familiarise yourself with how it operates, and install all the updates you require. I find it's timing of journeys so far to have been excellent, only minor map errors. The price was good, the delivery was good and the product is great. Even in france the tomtom warned me of speed cameras (which sometimes were no longer there) and the speed limits speed limits. With the device giving you an estimated time of arrival, you can map your route and before leaving decide if it is too far or not. I bought this some time ago, it works extremely well and continues to do so. There is insufficient memory built in to the device to have more than europe maps, i have had to load my maps onto a hc sd card hopefully this is addressed in the newer models.

Brought this as i'm traveling round the usa, australia and new zealand so wanted something to take with me.

Having to buy updated maps for a brand new device in order to take advantage of future map updates is a complete rip off. You can also fix or make some updates on your maps. Bought it when my ageing tomtom 700 gave up the ghost - but the screen mount is a nightmare. Thanks. Works well got us home from strange places. Love the new feature that predicts the correct route times too - so much more accurate.

Not as easy to use as the garmin that i had, but does its job and works well with tom tom home. Have had 4 tom tom's and they keep getting better. Well pleased. Basically what you read below in all the other reviews is correct in one way or the other so there aint no need for me to bable on, the one 'problem' with this system & no doubt all the other tomtoms is the map corrections programme. It's not all the map corrections but rather the speed corrections, the idea is that a road that you are travelling on has no speed limit on the gps system, using the map corrections you can insert the speed limit for the section of road you are on, you download it on tomtom home & it updates everyone with map share, brilliant, as long as it's not between the limits of 20mph or 30mph, it rounds it up or down to 19mph or 31mph depending on what you type in. Tomtom say they will fix it with new updates but that was over six months ago, i've been informed that it's a problem with both the usa & uk speed limits.

If your buying it for the idea of helping others & maybe trying to make your town a little safer with all the neds speeding about you might be wasting your time. I had a navigon unit that would not display the correct time. Only problem, light reflection at times, finding it difficult to find visor. Just download new map and go.

Tomtom 730 Sat Nav. Glad i stuck with tomtom for my new satnav. Its nice to keep getting map updates, free at present but when the 2 years is up i will have to get them less often. Toured france this summer (2009) and the tomtom was top of my list of essential items, the next was walkie talkies to keep in touch with another family following us just behind and then the airconditioning in the car. .

Good Product. Bought it few years ago. This little device helped me a lot when i was settling down in a new place, lots of options to enter address, nice menu. Needs to be updated from time to time. .
