Buying Guide of Garmin Nuvi 200 4

Review and Buying Guide of Buying Guide of Garmin Nuvi 200 4

Never having contemplated a sat nav - i like maps and route planning - i decided to give one a go as they are now more sensibly priced. I'm impressed, easy to set up and register with garmin. Only 'played' on short local journies so far but very good and up to date with new roads.

An exceptional 'value for money' item. Haven't had too much opportunity to use it so far but can say that it got me from crawley to roehampton without a hitch or glitch. The route self-correction feature is fascinating and invaluable. I'm looking forward to longer trips in future.

  • Very simple to use even for SatNav newcomers!
  • Most deffinitely value for money
  • Great Value, Service & Product!
  • reasonable sat nav

Great Value, Service & Product!. Delivered in less than 24 hours from order time & works a treat!acquired the satellite within 4 mins (first time) under 30 seconds there after, calculates the route within seconds & recalculates immediately when needed. Came with the instructions (you truly do not need them, it is very simple to use) & an in-car charger. Any mini usb cable will connect it to your pc so if you have an older digital camera or 'smart' mobile phone you probably already have one; if not you can pick them up for a few pounds here or from any high street electrical retailer/pc shop. Guided me through a 900+ mile round trip to a cottage at the end of a 2 mile dirt track in the middle of nowhere. Without fault or hesitation. I also had to use the 'points of interest' for petrol stations, cash machines & restaurants along the way. Worked well & found a very good selection for me. It does not have all the bells & whistles of the newer sat navs such as a poor quality mp4 player or a nearly working bluetooth, it just does the job it's is meant to do. Get you from a-b with no grief, stress or fuss. Well worth the money & no regrets after the purchase. N. B. 'u-turn' does not appear to be within the garmin nuvi's vocabulary. .

Simply the Best. Recently i have bought this satnav and from the start i am really happy with garmin. Had no problem with satellite reception or registration problem as many critics has mentioned. It does not have many features but it is simple to use, very affordable price, wide clear uncomplicated display, clear voice and it does it's job. Shows the map and address, make you aware about the speed cameras, and basicly finds your way. Of course for uk & roi only. If you are tide with budget, if you don't bother with bluetooth, live update maps, mpeq movie players, here you go. .

Reasonable Sat Nav. Opened the box and found the vehicle suction cup was broken. I returned the unit as faulty (first time i have ever had to return anything) and was a little worried something would go wrong or charged twice etc. Well i'm happy to say it was totally hassle free, speedy and a seamless process. The replacement sat nav was fine apart from when registering for the free trial speed camera updates. The unit had already been registered, but this was unlocked by garmin. It was bought to be used, perhaps a couple of times a year, which for the price is ok. If i were to use it more often i would probably spend more money as i feel the instructions when on motorways can be quite confusing as to which turn off/lane to be in. Overall, i haven only used the sat nav on a few occassions where i wasn't sure of my route and found the map could be a little outdated. The service provided by amazon i would rate highly, the sat nav i would rate above average. .

Conclusion of Garmin Nuvi 200 4

We were not convinced that we needed a satnav or that having bought one, we would be able to use it but a looming holiday in the lake district encouraged us to invest in this bargain priced unit. He was more than delighted when he told me it informed him of speed cameras and he was most impressed when it told him of average speed cameras. It was easy to set up with a clear and precise image, and although it gave him the option of choosing an image of different cars to follow the mapped road he chose the basic arrow. The service provided by amazon i would rate highly, the sat nav i would rate above average. Easy to register with garmin and took advantage of free month's trial of speed camera warnings.

If you fancy a basic sat nav then go for this as it's not all singing and dancing, it has a sd card slot as well. The unit is wonderful as i can't map read to save me life. Garmin nuvi 200 widescreen satellite navigation system - uk & roi mapping, newly overhauledclear wide screen, concise instructions. Downloading from garmin relatively easy, but better on line help would be a bonus. I bought this sat nav since i would be making alot more cross-country trips and after having borrowed my friends nuvi 200 for one journey i saw just how useful they are.

For the price the nuvi 200w is amazing, the screen is great, the features are good. '. The second being that when roads are close to each other/the motorway turn-off is right alongside the motorway, it's not always clear on the map which road is yours as the purple highlight overshadows the other roads but the more i use it the more i get used to this and can figure it out. Features - 9/10useability - 10/10navigation 8/10price - 10/10. If you are on a limited budget the garmin nuvi 200 widescreen is a sound investment and will get you where you want to go to. It's not perfect, mine told me to drive the wrong way down a one way street once but what sat nav doesnt do this ?.The maps are bright and colourful but they don't show you what your speed is (tomtoms do), for this you have to go to another screen.

It's only a touch of the screen away but your speed should be on the main map screen so you can keep your hands on the steering wheel, follow the map and be reminded of your speed at the same time. The nuvi will warn you of speed cameras via a bleep and a message on the screen but it doesn't tell you exactly where they are. A tomtom i borrowed counted you down with '400/200/100 yards to speed camera' alerts on its screen. Some sat navs let you add numerous way points to your journey, the nuvi only lets you put one in. Garmin ackowledge this as you can tell the nuvi to show you walking or cycling routes instead of vehicle routes.

If you want to download updates and extras from the garmin website you will also have to buy a lead to do this. Perhaps the more expensive garmin sat navs address the aforementioned shortcomings, if they do and you can afford it then get one of them but if cash is tight, put a nuvi 200 on your shopping list as the shortcomings are easy enough to live with and the nuvi 200 widescreen is quite a handsome machine to adorn your dashboard with. I had done a bunch of research and watched some video tutorials before buying a garmin nuvi 200w and after using it for a month i have to say that it has met my expectations. The unit i bought was refurbished and i wouldn't recommend buying a refurb.

But i couldn't update the map so i called them (and spent a long time on hold). After a 53 minute call, i found out that it was impossible to update my map because the original owner's map (europe) was overriding the ability to update my map (uk/roi). After forwarding them my amazon order to prove when i bought the nuvi, they ended up resetting everything and let me download the entire europe map. Great- but now i have to buy an sd card- not so great. Well, i wanted a sat nav to try out that was not complicated and relatively cheap.

I like this sat nav because it is simple, but lets you choose a couple of options; shortest or fastest route. Both can be frustrating if you already know a route but this sat nav quicky re-calculates without any fuss if you deviate from the set route on personal preference for another way. Finally it isn't full of peripheral stuff that you don't really need on a sat nav, i actually find the world clock helpful as i have to phone abroad frequently. This is the first sat nav system i have purchased so i was really pleased when i obtained this one from amazon, price was really good and no problem setting up the system in the car, also registering the product through garmin using helpdesk number was simple as well. Garmin products are becoming more popular and very competitive in the price range compared to tom tom products.

Upon purchasing the garmin nuvi 200w i was delighted with it's ease of use. She is a driving instructor and the unit will come in great when she gets new clients, for ease in finding their home addresses. It gives the unit more versatility in that if you are planning a trip you can spend time in your home plotting routes and places to visit. I bought it for my wife who, after using it for the first time, texted me saying 'love it, love it, love it'. I've used it a few times (having never had a satnav) and it's great - clear screen and very easy to use.

Garmin Nuvi Widescreen. Garmin nuvi 200 widescreen satellite navigation system - uk & roi mapping, newly overhauledclear wide screen, concise instructions. Although described as newly overhauled, there was nothing to suggest that the unit had been previously used. Remember to buy the charger and the usb lead, neither of which were included in the box. Downloading from garmin relatively easy, but better on line help would be a bonus. Delighted with the purchase. .

Garmin Nuvi 200 Wide Screen. If you fancy a basic sat nav then go for this as it's not all singing and dancing, it has a sd card slot as well. The unit is wonderful as i can't map read to save me life! it usually ends up me going to wrong way and shouting at the husband for telling me i missed my turn. Oh what a joy had a quick test run from friend to home and i've no idea as to why i hadn't got one sooner. I've had it a few days now and i am in love with it. The down side is i brought a cable to connet to the pc and i didn't need it, if you have a creative labs mp3 player the lead works from that and with a case i found that it fit in my nintendo ds case so don't go spending a lot of money on a case as i ordered a nintendo ds case and it fits lovely. Nothing bad to say about this unit at all. .
