Not a tomtom, but very close. I have tried to use my car tomtom in a waterproof case on the bike. The cases are completely waterproof, however on our last holiday to the south of france the weather was so hot it basically cooked the tomtom like a boil in a bag. This crashed the sat nav, and wasn't fixable till we got home.
In bright sun you cant see the sat nav at all, and cant hear any instructions given. Sat navs are just an extra, ive managed for 20 years riding around france with maps, but sat navs come into their own when finding mcdonalds, services, garages, fuel, hotels, and other pois. My unit came with a spare battery, all the mounts, cables galore and maps of europe and russia running on the igo8 system. Its not as user friendly as the tomtom, but it makes up for it in other departments. Hopefully soon i'll get a decent video up on you tube on the peaklife.
- quick to pickup signal and find addresses - address input is very good, and more flexible and accurate than other brands. Bought this on ebay so cannot judge on the vendor. However, i have used the product extensively for the past few months and here is what i found:- quick to pickup signal and find addresses- address input is very good, and more flexible and accurate than other brands (i used to have a garmin & snooper)- properly waterproof; just drove 300 miles france through thick rain and absolutely no issue- very tough: dropped the thing twice now and it still works fine- the screen is perfect for gloves, it is actually harder to activate the sat nav with bare hands. - map software is pretty good; sometimes you might find the route chosen is not the best but i had this issue with all other standard brands- it's got uk, europe and us maps. I have not tried the bluetooth function so cannot judge.
The main problem i have is the fact there's no proper guide. Removing the battery the other day i found a sim card slot and i have not found what feature it brings. I will have to try and see i suppose. Absolutely no regret on this purchase.

Might Be Good Product But Vendor Doesn't Provide Any Kind of Support. Pros. -good price-good quality-fast cpu-perfect gps signal reception-variety of gps software for windows ce5cons:-no support from vendor-bluetooth is not working for me (tested only with the sr10 and first generation blueant interphone (v1. 2, hsp, hfp)). It seems only a2dp profile is supported in this version. -peaklife supports firmware update but you can't find any new version-no audio output jackit might be good product but vendor doesn't provide any kind of support for it. Check before if peaklife supports your headset. .
Great Sat Nav Package. I have just bought this peaklife sat nav. It came in the post really fast. Maybe a week. I read all the reviews about this sat nav , most of them good and the odd bad one ,. Well i can only speak for my experience with this. Firstly the box and packing was first class. The sat nav unit itself is very well made and they make sure you get more than enough bits in the box to fit it , extra battery , car mount , bike mount etc. I have had countless tom toms and garmins and i defy anyone not to rate this as better taking in to account the pricetom tom batteries do not last , i replaced one and it was a crash course in electronics. The peaklife has a replaceable battery and a spare. Easily available as well!! and the battery cover is metal. Not cheap plastic. The motorcycle clamp is also metal and the screw holes matched up exactly with my bmw clamp should i wish to use it. It is pre loaded with uk maps and as soon as i walked outside it found my position. Lets get one thing clear. This is not some cheap chinese thing , yes it is made in china , but then flip your tom tom upside down and see where that was made. Yes. China. China pretty much leads the world in electronics now , all the big pc names and tv,s are made in china , someone puts a big name badge on it and charges you £300 more than it should cost. £115 has to be worth a chance in my opinion and it came up trumps. .
Amazing Looking Gps with a Lot of Knowledge. Amazing looking gps with a lot of knowledge, it does perfectly what its purpose is and i just love that it includes every country's map in europe and even more ;-) highly recommended.

Conclusion of LUJII SAT NAV /Car GPS Navigation System / Multimedia Player/ FM transmitter /
This unit is preloaded with uk and european maps so no need to worry about getting started on the road with no maps. Maps are from igo mapping software, but still not sure about how to update maps online, in the future, as this unit is not recognised on the igo website for online updating. You will probably need to get a download from igo which you then you can transfer from the computer onto the units flash memory. Cable to connect to the computer is provided with the unit. I read on one forum that tom tom maps will work from a sd card.
Sd card slot is in the back of the unit. Also it has a mounting kit for the handlebar of the bike or a suction mount option for car windscreen. Two cradles provided, one has a fixed charging part, if you want to charge the unit on the cradle. I managed to find out the the back of one of the mounts - the socket - will fit perfect with the ram mounts, but only rap sb type, which will give a bit more flexibility in finding a correct mount. I bought a ram mount - rap-sb-178 mount and used only the bottom part to fix it to the handlebar cover fairing on the bike and then clipped the ram ball part direct into the back of this unit mounting cradle.
No voice control or postcode input, but the unit finds the address or point of interest no problem. Will eventually link it up to the bike's battery via an in-line fuse as the charging mount has only two bare wires for connection into the wiring. Unit works with bluetooth for listening to directions only (not to control the unit). I already had a scala team rider pro intercom, but this would not work with this unit for some reason. Identical to the scala one and fits the original scala helmet mount, but the hong kong one will work perfect with this satnav and also receives music from the unit as well.
Also, as this unit works on a windows operating system - win ce 5. If want to use it for more than a sat nav, then with a bit of computer know how you can download some basic windows applications which will run on this unit if you choose to run the program in the search for maps file manager built into the unit. Remember to back up the units flash drive memory to your computer first which has all the maps, etc on it, just in case you freeze the unit. I would definitely recommend this unit if you don't mind the wait for delivery from hong kong and want a good basic waterproof sat nav. -good price-good quality-fast cpu-perfect gps signal reception-variety of gps software for windows ce5cons:-no support from vendor-bluetooth is not working for me (tested only with the sr10 and first generation blueant interphone (v1.
-peaklife supports firmware update but you can't find any new version-no audio output jackit might be good product but vendor doesn't provide any kind of support for it. I have just bought this peaklife sat nav. I read all the reviews about this sat nav , most of them good and the odd bad one ,. I've been using this satnav for 7 months now and it proved to be very reliable.
I use it in car trips as well, so don't need to have two different gps units - that saves some money. In general this is just amazing value for money comparing to other motorcycle gps units that cost £300 - 600. My unit came with a spare battery, all the mounts, cables galore and maps of europe and russia running on the igo8 system. With a micro sd card put in the peaklife you can add music/video to the sat nav.
The unit then connects to my bike and sends music/directions to the speakers/headset. Its a shame as my tomtom has free lifetime maps. I have tried, and can import the tracks to the 'tyre' software, but haven't found out how to export them from tyre to the unit yet. You can plan and save routes (and name them) on the unit, but it would be nice to do this on the pc with a cuppa and export them to the sat nav. Im still testing the unit yet, but so far im very impressed.
On a car sat nav you have to use the cigarette lighter for power, this means installing one on the bike. This has a permenant mount/live feed, just put the sat nav in the cradle and its powered up. Im lucky because ive saved up to get this, it is good value for a bike specific gps, but for a gps in general?. My tomtom was £120 with free lifetime maps. Theres no way im gonna pay £300+ for a specific bike sat nav.
If you can manage, definitely the cheapest way is the waterproof case/car sat nav route. My requirements were, a waterproof sat nav, proper bike mount, mp3 player (so i could get rid of my ipod wired to the bike), bluetooth stereo sound, and a trip computer. Lucikly for me, years ago i had a tomtom crash, and backed it up,so when my peaklife came, i copied the tfat file with all the igo8 files on it. Today i wiped the tfat off the unit, and sent back my backup file. I have only two complaints about this product :1/ the bike mount is great apart from the fact that the bracket would not fit the bars on my triumph speedmaster which meant buying some longer bolts.
Not a Tomtom, but Very Close. Great Value.. I have tried to use my car tomtom in a waterproof case on the bike. Its not as user friendly as the tomtom, but it makes up for it in other departments. Hopefully soon i'll get a decent video up on you tube on the peaklife. It has got bluetooth, but only as audio to headsets, not to phones. Im not bothered as i don't use the phone on rides. My bike is a goldwing 1500 that ive bluetoothed the stereo on. With a micro sd card put in the peaklife you can add music/video to the sat nav. The unit then connects to my bike and sends music/directions to the speakers/headset. I can confirm that the audio from the peaklife is in stereo. Im still messing with the video, i can get it to work for what its worth, but the picture needs resizing. The maps on mine are from 2012, so a couple of years old, but nothing to worry about. Ive seen legal sites on the web where you can purchase new maps pretty cheaply. Its a shame as my tomtom has free lifetime maps. Ive tested them side by side, and they pretty much direct you the same way. The tomtom is just a whole lot easier to navigate around. But, the peaklife has a trip computer which has 3 trips to it. Hopefully all will be explained in my video (eventually). But if youre a bit nerdy over your trips like me, you can see average speed, max speed, times, altitudes etc for 3 different legs. Also you can record tracks on this unit. Its the buyers choice really. Do you want to spend over £300 n a tomtom rider/garmin, or (mine was £86) just over £100 on one of these. I would say get one in plenty of time so you can mess about with it and get used to the interface, the more i use it, the more i like it. Also make sure that maps are included, unless you are a 'puter geek who knows how to do this. On a car sat nav you have to use the cigarette lighter for power, this means installing one on the bike. I already had one so no problem. This has a permenant mount/live feed, just put the sat nav in the cradle and its powered up. No more straggling wires around the bike. Im lucky because ive saved up to get this, it is good value for a bike specific gps, but for a gps in general? my tomtom was £120 with free lifetime maps. . My requirements were, a waterproof sat nav, proper bike mount, mp3 player (so i could get rid of my ipod wired to the bike), bluetooth stereo sound, and a trip computer. It has all these and more. The only negative is the user interface, its not terrible, but if youre used to tomtom/garmins it takes some getting used to. Important update please readwhilst messing about with the peaklife last night, i tried to change skins on one of the menus. The machine then totally crashed, and kept crashing before i could get to the screen where i could change the menu back. I tried to reset and also factory reset, but no good. Took the battery out overnight, but still no luck. Lucikly for me, years ago i had a tomtom crash, and backed it up,so when my peaklife came, i copied the tfat file with all the igo8 files on it. Today i wiped the tfat off the unit, and sent back my backup file. Success! my little treasure is up and running again. Moral of the story, back up the tfat file when you get the peaklife!!!!!!.
